Garware Plateena is a UHMPE rope manufactured from HMPE fibre - the world's strongest fibre yarn with a very high breaking strength-to-weight ratio, engineered specifically for the power transmission industry.

Plateena ropes are engineered for uninterrupted, faster stringing operations across all weather and terrain conditions - fields, valleys, river crossings, hilly terrain, long spans, and high-altitude installations where conventional steel wire rope handling is a critical bottleneck.

Unlike steel wire rope, Plateena has no fish hooks or protruding wire ends - eliminating a major source of crew injury. No lubrication is required at any point on the stringing route - eliminating lubrication cost and the environmental and agronomic risk of lubricant dripping on crops and land during line stringing.

Power-on line (hotline) stringing with Plateena is safer and more cost-effective: the rope has very high dielectric constants, is virtually non-conducting, has very high flash-over voltage, and low sag due to its light weight.

Plateena stringing ropes are supplied in ready-to-use bobbin form - eliminating preparation time on site.
